POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University softball team captured its second straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship and third in the last four years with a 4-0 win over Iona on Sunday morning at Gartland Field. The Red Foxes will enter the NCAA Tournament on a 17-game winning streak.

• Marist broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth. Sienna Kunze led off the inning with a single, and Samantha Rogers brought her home with an RBI double to right field.
• The Red Foxes added three more runs in the fifth. Annabelle Geiser singled to lead off the inning before Peyton Pusey hit a two-run homer to center field.
• Two batters later, Haley Ahr added a solo homer to right center to extend the lead to 4-0.
• Ava Metzger held Iona scoreless throughout the game. The graduate student allowed just three hits in a complete-game shutout.

• Kunze finished 3-for-3.
• Rogers went 2-for-3 with an RBI double.
• Pusey hit a two-run homer and scored a run.
• Ahr added a solo homer.
• Metzger (12-3) threw a complete-game shutout, allowing three hits while striking out three.
• Marist out-hit Iona, 10-3.

• Marist won its sixth MAAC Championship in program history (2006, 2013, 2016, 2023, 2025, 2026).
• The Red Foxes became the first repeat MAAC champions since Monmouth in 2018 and 2019.
• Pusey was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, ending a streak of nine straight pitchers to earn the honor. Metzger, Ahr, Rogers, and Kunze made the All-Championship Team.
• Kunze had her first three-hit game of the season.
• Head coach Joe Ausanio secured his fifth MAAC Championship to go along with his sixth MAAC Coach of the Year award, both of which rank second in conference history.
• Marist will enter the NCAA Tournament on a 17-game winning streak.
• The Red Foxes' 37 wins are tied for the third-most in program history.
• Marist has totaled 150 wins over the last four seasons, marking the winningest four-year stretch in program history.

• Marist is 37-19.
• Iona finishes the season 27-26.
