Red Foxes Suffer First Loss of Season

GREENVILLE, South Carolina - The Marist baseball team suffered their first loss of the season on Friday evening, falling to Notre Dame by a final score of 20-2.

  • With two outs in the first inning, Notre Dame rallied across 8 runs.
  • Alex Pansini buckled down after that, throwing two straight perfect innings before being relieved by freshman John Hacker. 
  • Notre Dame got the bats rolling again in the 7th inning, scoring 6 runs on two doubles and a homerun.
  • Marist got on the board in the 8th inning with an RBI-single from Marco Ali, scoring Gene Napolitano. 
  • Justin Kapuscinski hit his first homerun of the year in the top of the 9th, but it wasn't enough as Notre Dame won, 20-2.
