ATLANTA, Georgia – Men's cross country and track and field's
Steven Rizzo was named one of four finalists for the 14th Annual Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup Award as was announced by the Athletes For a Better World.
Rizzo has been a four year member of both the cross country and track and field teams and has been involved with numerous community service endeavors both on and off campus.
The Cup has been recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in sports, given its emphasis on character and its openness to athletes in all sports. It began in 2012 and was designed to be awarded to those individuals who are deemed so exceptional and laudatory that they are worthy of special recognition and praise. Previous recipients, including Jack Nicklaus, Mia Hamm, Cal Ripken, Peyton Manning, Pat Summitt and others.
One male and one female winner will be selected at a banquet that will take place in Atlanta on April 25, 2018 at 6 p.m. at the Cobb Galleria ballroom in Atlanta.
