LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Marist water polo team fell to in-state rival Hartwick 9-8 today at the Bucknell Invitational.

Sophomore Brooke Else (Lansdale, Pa.) led Marist with three goals. Else kicked off the scoring in the first quarter with two goals, while junior Hannah Levien (Davis, Calif.) tacked on two more in the second along with a goal from junior Anna-Lena Hathaway (South Pasadena, Calif.). The Red Foxes entered the third quarter tied at five, until Hartwick found the back of the net twice. Marist would bring it within one in the fourth quarter, with goals from senior Yuriria Chavez (Chicago, Ill.) and Else, and a five-meter goal from freshman Amanda Amorosa (Montreal, QC), but that would be as close as the Red Foxes would get.

Junior Jessica Hamby (Sacramento, Calif.) posted five steals for the Red Foxes, along with four ejections drawn. Sophomore Goalie Skyler Henry posted 14 saves and one steal for Marist.

The Red Foxes posted 16 steals and nine ejections drawn against Harwick.

The Red Foxes will close out the invite against Bucknell at 3:30 p.m.
