Water Polo Clinches Victory over George Washington
LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Marist water polo team beat George Washington 9-5 in its second game of the Bucknell Invitational.
Three Red Foxes contributed goals in the victory, with six in total aiding the Red Foxes to a 4-6 record. Junior Jessica Hamby (Sacramento, Calif.), senior Yuriria Chavez (Chicago, Ill.), and freshman Amanda Amorosa (Montreal, QC) compiled two goals each. Junior Allison Hamby (Sacramento, Calif.), junior Anna-Lena Hathaway (South Pasadena, Calif.), and sophomore Brooke Else (Lansdale, Pa.) also tallied a goal each.
Sophomore goalie Skyler Henry (San Diego, Calif.) posted six saves for the day, adding one steal.
The Red Foxes posted eight assists, six steals, and five field blocks while only committing one turnover in the outing. Marist capitalized on two six-on-five opportunities, while defending four of six shorthanded situations.
Marist continues at the Bucknell Invitational tomorrow morning at 11:45 a.m. against Hartwick. The Red Foxes will close out the invite against Bucknell at 3:30 p.m.
