This is the second weekly award of Kline's career.

EDISON, N.J. - Marist water polo senior captain Kelly Kline (Reading, Pa.) was recognized as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) water polo Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday. The award is the second of Kline's career as she earned the same honor last spring.

Kline was the Red Foxes best defender in their four games over the weekend at the Bison Invite, totaling eight steals and a field block. She had three steals in Marist's game versus Brown and two steals against both #16 Hartwick and Gannon. She also added a field block against Brown. She was also one of the Red Foxes biggest offensive threats, tying for the team-high with six goals and adding an assist on the weekend while taking 15 shots.

The Red Foxes (2-10) will return to action this weekend as they will play two individual games next Saturday against Hartwick and Indiana. The Red Foxes open their home slate March 9-11 when they host the Marist Invite.
