LEWISBURG, PA - The Marist women's water polo team opened play at the Bison Invite on Saturday, dropping two decisions to 19th-ranked Princeton #16 Hartwick. In their morning game, the Red Foxes (1-9) fell to the Tigers by a score of 11-7, before losing to the Hawks 13-9 in the afternoon.

In the first game, Jessica and Alison Hamby (Sacramento, Calif.) each had two goals to lead the offense. Jaclyn Puccino (San Diego, Calif.), Shelby Rinker (Lansdale, Pa.) and Robyn Crabtree (Cutler Bay, Fla.) also scored for Marist. Puccino and Alison Hamby also each had two assists apiece and Rebecca Thomas (Cape Town, South Africa) made seven saves in goal and added two steals.

Alison Hamby gave the Red Foxes an early 1-0 lead, but Princeton then held Marist scoreless for the next 11 minutes, while scoring three times themselves to build a lead. In all, the Tigers score eight of the next nine goals to pull away.

In their afternoon game, three Red Foxes scored two goals. Crabtree, Desiree Desaulniers (Orlando, Fla.) and Kelly Kline (Reading, Pa.) all found the back of the net twice. Puccino, Rinker and Hanna Levien (Davis, Calif.) also added scores. Crabtree had a team-high five shots, three steals and drew two ejections. Elise Humphries (Anaheim, Calif.) made nine saves in goal.

Marist never trailed by more than two goals until late in the third quarter. They only were behind by one, 6-5 at halftime. But the Hawks responded, outscoring the Red Foxes 6-2 in a decisive third quarter to essentially put the game away.
