EDISON, N.J. – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced its All-Academic team from the 2013 season. Six student-athletes represented Marist on the All-Academic team: Matel Anasta (Catskill, N.Y.), Steven Arraiano (Putnam Valley, N.Y.), Matty Berman (West Orange, N.J.), Connor Flatley (Kearny, N.J.), Connor Preece (Ballston Spa, N.Y.), and MJ Stellwag (Newburgh, N.Y.).
Arraiano, Flatley, Preece, and Stellwag are business administration majors. Berman is majoring in communication and Anasta is an economics major.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. Iona College led all MAAC schools with 12 student-athletes. Siena College was a close second with 10 and Manhattan College was right behind them with 9. Quinnipiac University added 8 while Monmouth University added 7. Fairfield University, Marist College, and Rider University each added 6 student-athletes while Niagara University contributed 5. Canisius College and Saint Peter’s University round out our list with both schools adding 3 each.
