POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist men's soccer team will be back in action on Saturday evening when it hosts Sacred Heart University from the Northeast Conference. The Red Foxes (1-5) kick off against the Pioneers (2-5) at 7 p.m. at Tenney Stadium.

Last Time Out: The Red Foxes fell 1-0 in double overtime to Hartford on Tuesday night at home. Goalkeeper Anthony Sokalski (London, Ontario) recorded five saves for Marist. Four Red Foxes posted shots on goal but were unable to convert past Hawks goalkeeper David MacKinnon. Hartford posted the game-winning goal in the 104th minute to remain undefeated in the 2013 season.
First Time Meeting: This is the first meeting between the two teams in program history.
Scouting Sacred Heart University: The Pioneers finished the 2012 season with a 9-8 overall record and a 5-5 conference record. They are 2-5 this season, earning wins against NJIT and Drexel, both 2-1 decisions. Mahmoud Kafel and Aaron Burrell have recorded two goals each for Sacred Heart. Sophomore goal keeper, Tucker Hackett, has recorded 15 saves this season with a save percentage of .682.
Following this matchup, the Red Foxes will be away for two straight games: Sept. 27th at Brown and Oct. 5th at Rider. Marist returns home for a Wednesday afternoon game on Oct. 9 to face Niagara. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Tenney Stadium.
