Red Foxes To Host Hawks Tuesday Night
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist men's soccer team will be back in action on Tuesday evening when it hosts University of Hartford from the America East Conference. The Red Foxes (1-4) kick off against the Hawks (3-0-2) at 7 p.m. at Tenney Stadium.

Last Time Out: On Saturday night, the Red Foxes, who had been held scoreless through their first four games, registered two goals in a shut out of University of New Hampshire Wildcats 2-0 at Tenney Stadium. Senior Goalkeeper Anthony Sokalski (London, Ontario) once again had a strong showing, registering eight saves in the win. The first-half finished tied at 0-0. In the second-half, Steven Arraiano (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) and Nick Bramall (Newburgh, N.Y.) tallied goals within ten minutes of each other. The Red Foxes have now defeated the Wildcats in consecutive games dating back to last season.
Ranked In NCAA National Stats Top Ten: In the most recent NCAA Stats, Sokalski is ranked 8th in the country in total saves with 31. He is ranked 10th in the country for saves per game with 6.2. He recorded his first shutout of the season Saturday night against New Hampshire.
First Career Goal: Arraiano’s goal in the 65th minute was his first career goal and first game winner, giving Marist the 1-0 edge heading into the last 25 minutes of play. Saturday’s goal was the second career goal for Bramall. He recorded a goal against Saint Peter’s on Oct. 7, 2012.
Previous Meeting: The last meeting between the two programs occurred on Sept. 24, 2011. In Marist's concluding match of their non-conference schedule, the Red Foxes fought to a 1-1 double overtime draw at Hartford. Atobra Ampadu scored Hartford’s only goal at the 40:33 mark in the first-half. Senior Lucas Szabo scored the game-tying goal in the 75th minute.
Scouting University of Hartford: The Hawks finished last season with a 7-9-1 overall record, with a 1-5-1 conference record and a 3-4-0 road record. This season, the Hawks are undefeated with an overall record of 3-0-2, with double overtime draws against Villanova and American. David Bernhardson, Damion Lowe and Javoni Simms have each scored a goal. Omar Tall leads the team with two assists in 245 minutes played. On Sept. 16, freshman Goalkeeper David MacKinnon was named America East Rookie of the Week. MacKinnon owns three career shutouts and has yet to allow a goal this season.
Following this matchup, the Red Foxes will complete their three-game home stand Saturday Sept. 21 against Sacred Heart, scheduled for 7 p.m. at Tenney Stadium.
