POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist women’s lacrosse team (3-2, 0-0 MAAC) is set to take on Bucknell (0-5, 0-1 Patriot) on Wednesday, Mar. 12. The game is slated to begin at 4 p.m. in Lewisburg, Pa.

Last Time Out: Marist fell to Hofstra on Friday, Mar. 7, 9-3. Juniors Jackie DiMaria (Dix Hills, N.Y.), Emily Leonard (Brookfield, Conn.) and sophomore Allison Gionta (Easport, N.Y.) had one goal each for the Red Foxes. Freshman goalie Abigail Witczak (Mendham, N.J.) had eight saves for Marist in the net. The loss broke a two game win streak for the Red Foxes after sweeping the weekend in California.

Scouting the Bison: Bucknell is 0-5 overall and most recently dropped its Patriot League opener against Lehigh, 10-4. Freshman Christina Manis had two goals and an assist for Bucknell. Seniors Sophie Kleinert and Katelyn Miller added one goal each in the loss. Junior Emily Kookogey leads the Bison with seven goals while Miller has five goals and four assists, posting a team-high nine points. Starting goalkeeper Elizabeth Duswalt has 75 goals against, averaging 15.37 goals against per game, and a total 45 saves.

Last Meeting: The team’s last met on Saturday, Apr. 20, 2013 at Tenney Stadium. Marist jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead and never looked back as it closed out the home portion of its regular season with a 14-11 win over Bucknell. Feeding off the emotion of pre-game Senior Day festivities and a loud crowd, the Red Foxes made sure that they would net their fourth straight win and seventh in eight games with their outstanding start. In fitting fashion, the leaders both offensively and defensively came from the Red Foxes’ senior class as Amanda Tuck (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) and Ashley Miller (Montville, N.J.) spearheaded the offense with four goals each, while Ashley Casiano (South Windsor, Conn.) stopped a season-high 15 shots in goal.

Following this match-up, Marist faces George Mason on Monday, Mar. 17 in Fairfax, Va. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
