The Marist Women's lacrosse team will host Fairfield tomorrow in their fifth conference game in a row. This will be the last home game of the season as the Red Foxes continue their fight to qualify for the MAAC Championships. Wednesday's contest will also serve as the team's annual Friends of Jaclyn Game.
LAST TIME OUT: Ariel Kramer and Emily Leonard scored three goals each as the Marist overcame a two-goal halftime deficit to defeat Canisius by a 13-11 score on Saturday afternoon in a MAAC game at Tenney Stadium.
Three other Red Foxes scored two goals on the day, with Jori Procaccini, Kelly Condon and Jamie Romano each finding the back of the net twice. Ashley Casiano made 14 saves in goal for the Red Foxes and scooped up a game-high four ground balls. Kramer is grabbed a game-high six draw controls.
RECENT HISTORY WITH FAIRFIELD: The Red Foxes lost a hard-fought game versus the Stags last year in their MAAC conference opener by a score of 12-9. In a game in which the Red Foxes went scoreless for the first 20 minutes and down 4-0, they were able to claw their way back to lead at one point and tie the game two other times in the second half.
For the game, Ariel Kramer led the Marist offense with four goals scored and an assist in her first game back since injuring her knee at Yale on March 12. She was joined in the multi-point scoring column by junior Shannon Haas, who netted two goals.
SCOUTING FAIRFIELD: The Stags, who come in at 10-3 overall and 4-0 in the MAAC are led offensively by Melanie Raso with 33 points and Chloe Mangan with 26 points. Courtney Chmil leads the team in ground balls and caused turnovers with 36 and 17, respectively. Chmil has also added 20 goals on the year. In goal, Katie Keenan has posted a 8.13 GAA and a .523 save percentage, while compiling a 9-3 record.
