LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Marist women's basketball team used an 11-0 run midway through the second half to pull away for a 66-48 victory at Siena Sunday afternoon in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) game.

Casey Dulin (Milford, Conn.) scored a game-high 14 points to go along with four assists and three rebounds. She also was one of three Red Foxes to register two blocks, the second time she has done that in as many games. Kristina Danella (Manalapan, N.J.) had 13 points and six rebounds off the bench and Elizabeth Beynnon (Burlington, Vt.) finished with 12 points, 10 of which came in the second half. Emma O'Connor (Lynbrook, N.Y.) finished one rebound shy of a double-double, scoring 10 points to go along with a new personal best of nine rebounds.

Marist (17-6, 12-0 MAAC) opened the game by jumping out to a 6-2 run on two free throws by Beynnon and jumpers by O'Connor and Kristine Best (Commack, N.Y.).

However, Siena (9-14, 5-7 MAAC) stormed right back and took the lead 13-11 with 11:59 left in the half on the back of an 11-5 run.

The Red Foxes would hold the Saints scoreless for the next 6:04, going on a 10-0 run to take a 21-13 lead. A cutting layup by Dulin, on a crisp pass from O'Connor, tied the score at 13 and Dulin followed with her second three-pointer of the half. Danella then hit a jumper and Leanne Ockenden (Syracuse, N.Y.) hit a trey of her own to conclude the streak.

Siena closed to within two points at 22-20, but for consecutive free throws by O'Connor and a put-back layup by Danella gave the Red Foxes a 28-24 lead at halftime.

The second half started back-and-forth as Ockenden drained consecutive three-pointers to counter Siena baskets and keep Marist up by four.

The Red Foxes eventually extended the lead to seven at 40-33 on a layup by Dulin and two free throws apiece from Sydney Coffey (New Hope, Minn.) and O'Connor.

The Saints however made a run again and closed to within four at 44-40 with 10:09 remaining.

The defense clamped down however, again holding Siena scoreless for a long stretch while the offense went on an 11-0 run to open a 15-point lead at 55-40 with 5:26 left. Beynnon started the run with a short, turnaround jumper, the end of a streak of six straight points that she scored for Marist. Beynnon then found Danella for a layup and Best hit a straightaway three-pointer. Dulin hit a layup while falling away from the basket before finding Danella for another layup to close out the run.

Danella scored five points and Beynnon added four in the game's final four minutes to provide the final margin.

Marist returns home to McCann Arena for the next three games, starting with Niagara at 5 p.m. on Friday. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU with former Marist standout Julianne Viani getting the call along with Ed Cohen. The Marist men's team will also take on Niagara at home Friday night, completing the doubleheader at 8 p.m. in a game broadcast on ESPN3. The Red Foxes will also host Manhattan on Sunday in the annual Play 4Kay Breast Cancer Awareness game at 2 p.m.
