Cusano begins his sixth season as an assistant coach after playing for Marist for four years and being a three-year starter as both a midfielder and a forward. Cusano was also a member of two teams that made appearances in the MAAC title game. He was a member of the 2004 team that won the MAAC and went on to play UConn in the College Cup. Cusano also served as an assistant coach to the MAAC championship team of 2005 that went on to play St. John's in the College Cup.

Prior to Marist, Cusano was a five-time New York State Cup Champion with FC Westchester 84's in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2004. He also won two Region I Championships in 2000 and 2002, as well as a National Championship in 2000 with FC Westchester.

Cusano went to North Rockland High School where in his Junior and Senior years he earned All-League, All-Section and All-County recognition. He also played for Eastern New York ODP from 1998-2001.

In the summertime, Cusano has won two State Cup Championships with the New York Irish Rovers in 2004 and 2005. In the summer, he also coaches the LaGrange Red Devils in the Region I Tournament.

Cusano has earned both his Bachelor's Degree in History in 2005 and his Master's of Business Administration in 2007 from Marist. He currently is the Coordinator of Tutoring and teaches at Marist. He resides in Poughkeepsie.
