PRINCETON, N.J. - The Marist women's track and field team competed at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Saturday at Princeton University. Five Red Foxes set personal bests at the event.
All four Marist runners who competed in the 1,500-meter run set personal bests. Freshman Michelle Gaye (Greenlawn, N.Y.) led the Red Foxes' contingent with a time of 4:45.10, good for a 19th-place finish. Freshman Christine Coughlin (Latham, N.Y.) was 23rd in 4:46.93, junior Erin O'Reilly (East Patchogue, N.Y.) took 41st in 4:54.28 and senior Kara Lightowler (Orange, Conn.) took 45th in 4:57.58.
In the 3,000-meter run, freshman Erin Thompson (Washington Township, N.J.) had a personal best of 10:29.10 to finish 16th. Junior Katie Messina (Queensbury, N.Y.) took 23rd in the same race in 10:51.20. Senior Briana Crowe (Bayville, N.J.) finished 31st in the 800 meters in 2:17.52.
