POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist men's and women's cross country teams have reported for preseason camp. The teams had physicals and a mandatory NCAA meeting Monday morning, followed by the first practice of the season in the afternoon.

The men's team is coming off a successful season in which it placed second at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships, trailing only nationally-ranked Iona. The Red Foxes then placed 10th at Northeast Regionals and fifth at the IC4A Championships. The women's team placed fourth at the MAAC Championships, and was led by Kiersten Anderson (Scotia, N.Y.). Then a freshman, Anderson placed fifth at the MAAC Championships and second at the ECAC Championships.

The season will begin for the men and women on Saturday, Sept. 3 with the Marist Invitational at Bowdoin Park in Poughkeepsie. This year's MAAC Championships will be held on Friday, Oct. 28 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
