POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Rising senior defensive end Terrence Fede (Nyack, N.Y.) of the Marist football team has been named to the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Defensive End Award Watch List for the 2012 season.

Fede was a Second Team All-Pioneer Football League (PFL) selection in 2011. He led the Red Foxes with eight-and-a-half sacks and 16 tackles for losses. His 72 total tackles ranked second on the team, and was tied for the second-best total in the PFL among defensive linemen. Fede added two pass break-ups, a fumble recovery, a forced fumble and a blocked kick.

Fede was named PFL Co-Defensive Player of the Week following his performance against Drake on Oc. 29, when he had 11 tackles, three sacks and four stops for losses. His efforts were crucial in helping Marist finish sixth in the FCS ranks in first in the PFL in total defense, as the Red Foxes allowed an average of just 285.64 yards per game.

The Marist football team will open its 2012 season on Saturday, Sept. 1 at Bryant. The Red Foxes will open their five-game home schedule on Saturday, Sept. 8 against Bucknell. The team is in its fourth season as a member of the PFL, and will open league play on Saturday, Sept. 22 against Davidson, which will take place on Alumni Weekend.
