BRONX, N.Y. - The Marist women's cross country team set a school record with four All-East honorees at the ECAC meet on Saturday, held at Van Cortlandt Park. Competing in the university race, freshman Michelle Gaye (Greenlawn, N.Y.) led the Red Foxes with a second-place finish in 18:15 on the 5K course.
Freshman Erin Thompson (Washington Township, N.J.), junior Katie Messina (Queensbury, N.Y.) and senior Briana Crowe (Bayville, N.J.) were also named All-East after finishing 18th, 21st and 24th, respectively.
As a team, Marist finished second out of 22 teams at the university race with a total of 119 points. First-place Albany totaled 109.
In the coaches' race, senior Kara Lightowler (Orange, Conn.) placed second overall in 19:42.4.
