POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Freshman Michelle Gaye (Greenlawn, N.Y.) of the Marist women's cross country team has been named ECAC Division I Cross Country Runner of the Week. Gaye, who was previously honored as Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) as the Women's Runner of the Week on Monday, won the individual title at the Ted Owen Invitational this past Saturday as the Red Foxes claimed the team championship.

Gaye set a personal-best time of 18:04 as she ran the MAAC's best 5K time of the season. It was her second individual title in three career races, as she also finished first at the season-opening Marist Invitational.

Marist will return to action on Friday, as the Red Foxes will compete at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University.
