LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – Four of the Marist men’s lacrosse incoming freshman have been named by Newsday to the Top 100 boys lacrosse players on Long Island. The list was compiled heading into the 2014 season.
Billy Andrle, a native of East Meadow, N.Y., will join the Red Foxes on defense. According to Newsday’s Will Sammon, Andrle “has a menacing presence.” Jack Korber of Massapequa, N.Y. is a “defensive midfielder with a motor that doesn’t stop.” Brett Osman of Miller Place, N.Y. will round out the defense for Marist. Osman is “a true leader who helped the [Miller Place] Panthers to a county title last year.” Liam Walsh, teammates with Osman, will play in the midfield for Marist. Walsh has 13 goals and six assists for Miller Place so far this season.
Marist heads into its final two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) games of the season, starting on Saturday, April 19 against Monmouth. Action is set to begin at 1 p.m. in West Long Branch, N.J.
