POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist men’s lacrosse team (3-4, 1-1 MAAC) hosts Brown on Tuesday, Mar. 25 in a non-conference face-off. The game is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at Tenney Stadium. Admission is free and open to the public.
Last Time Out: The Red Foxes earned their first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) victory of the season with a 13-8 commanding win over Quinnipiac (2-4, 1-1 MAAC). Freshman J.D. Recor (Lancaster, N.Y.) led the Red Foxes with four goals and four assists for a total of eight points. Junior goalkeeper Dave Scarcello (Buffalo, N.Y.) had another solid performance in the net, posting 16 saves.
Junior Colin Joka (Conshohocken, Pa.) tallied three goals and added an assist. Sophomore Joseph Radin (Long Beach, N.Y.) and junior Mike Begley (Brookeville, Md.) netted two goals apiece while Radin dished out an assist. Sophomores Dominic Montemurro (Kinds Park, N.Y) and Dillon Walker (Wawa, Pa.) contributed one goal each. Junior Drew Nesmith (Montclair, N.J.) and freshman Connor O'Neill (Sayville, N.Y.) had one assist apiece.
Radin leads Marist with 26 points, including a team-high 22 goals and four assists. Recor is right behind with 24 points, including eight goals and a team-high 16 assists. Joka has 14 goals and four assists for 18 points. Starting goalie, Scarcello, has made 77 saves to post a 51.7 save percentage.
Scouting the Bears: Brown is currently 4-3 overall, and 0-1 in the Ivy League. Its conference loss came against Harvard, 16-10. The only common opponent the Bears share with Marist is Quinnipiac. Brown defeated the Bobcats, 13-6 and Marist most recently played Quinnipiac and won, 13-8. Brown most recently defeated Providence in double-overtime, 12-11. Freshman Dylan Molloy had a hat trick and the game winning goal with 2:13 left in the second overtime.
Molloy has a team-high 19 points, including 14 goals and five assists. Kylor Bellistri is second with 17 points, including nine goals and eight assists. Starting goalkeeper Jack Kelly has posted 80 saves this season with a 53.0 save percentage.
Following this match-up, Marist remains home for a MAAC contest against Manhattan. Face-off is set for 1 p.m. at Tenney Stadium. Admission is free and open to the public.
