POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Following a breakout rookie season, freshman J.D. Recor (Lancaster, N.Y.) has been ranked the 15th best freshman in Division I men’s lacrosse by InsideLacrosse.com. Recor finished the season with a team-high 48 points on 17 goals and a team-best 31 assists in 15 games.

Recor nabbed All-MAAC Second Team and MAAC All-Rookie Team honors in 2014 alongside four MAAC Rookie of the Week awards. His 31 assists place Recor seventh in program history for assists in a single season. Recor also helped lead the Red Foxes to their first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship game since 2005, scoring the game-winning goal in Marist’s 11-9 victory over Detroit in the semifinals. Recor finished the year ranked second in the MAAC for assists per game (2.07) and third for points per game (3.2). He also led all freshmen in the nation in assists and ranked 11th nationally in assists per game.
