The Marist baseball team has 20 members of its 2012 squad playing in summer college leagues for 14 different teams. Below are the teams that have Red Foxes suiting up for them this summer, along with a link so fans can track the player's statistics. Six Red Foxes are playing in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL). Shortstop Zach Shank (Lititz, Pa.), first baseman Mike Orefice (Wappinger Falls, N.Y.) and right-handed starter Brett Houseal (Landisville, Pa.) are suiting up for the Danbury Westerners out of Danbury, Conn. Outfielder Jake Berry (South Hamilton, Mass.) is playing for the Holyoke Blue Sox in Holyoke, Mass. and right-handed starter Chris Bielak (Sayreville, N.J.) is taking the mound for the North Adams SteepleCats in North Adams, Mass.
The Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL) has catcher Mark Brennan (Wallingford, Conn.) and left-handed reliever Rich Vrana (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) playing for the North Fork Ospreys in Peconic, N.Y. while right-handed reliever Brandon Dolan (Franklin Park, N.J.) is pitching for the Jersey Pilots in Berkeley Heights, N.J.
Outfielders Mark Stuckey (Marietta, Pa.) and Eric Helmrich (Yonkers, N.Y.) and right-handed reliever Evan Davis (Little Falls, N.Y.) are playing for the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) in Little Falls, N.Y.
Three players are playing in the Hudson Valley Collegiate Baseball League (HVCBL). Catcher Mark Swertfager (Katonah, N.Y.) and infielder Dan Sheldon (Hillsborough, N.J.) are playing for the Westchester Rockies North in Brewster, N.Y. Second baseman Alec Petrone (Mahopac, N.Y.) is playing for the Wappinger Yankees in Wappinger Falls, N.Y.
Third baseman Nick McQuail (Wantagh, N.Y.) is on a temporary contract with the Forest City Owls of the Coastal Plains League in Forest City, N.C. In the same league, right-hander Kevin McCarthy (Malverne, N.Y.) is pitching for the Edenton Steamers out of Edenton, N.C. McCarthy pitched six shutout innings in his first start on Monday, June 4 in a Steamers 1-0 win, improving their record to 4-0.
Outfielder Pat Welsh (Millersville, Pa.) is playing for the Olean Oilers of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) out of Olean, N.Y.
Utility man Steve Laurino (Carle Place, N.Y.) is suiting up for the Peekskill Tides of the Westchester-Rockland League.
Right-handed reliever Chris Napolitano (Wall, N.J) is playing for the Toms River Hurricanes of The Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League in Toms River, N.J.
Right-handed reliever Chris Thorsen (Lititz, Pa.) is pitching for the Woodstock River Bandits of the Valley Baseball League in Woodstock, Va.
