WORCESTER, Massachusetts – The Marist men's rowing team has six student-athletes named to the National Invitational Rowing Championships (NIRC) All-Academic Team, Thursday afternoon. A total of 303 student-athletes across the country were recognized to the NIRC All-Academic team with another 30 named to the 2017 NIRC All-Stewards Team.
For a student-athlete to be recognized to the NIRC All-Academic Team they must have completed one full-year at their institution (freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible), maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.35 and be recognized as a varsity letter winner.
Representing the sophomore's on the NIRC All-Academic list are Dan Arrato, Raymond Mattingly, and Tadd Bindas. For the juniors, Morgan Stippa and Ryan Lillis pick up selections. The lone senior on the list for Marist is Dylan Galimi.
The last time out for the Red Foxes the team traveled to Worcester, MA to attend the National Invitational Rowing Championships (NIRC), this past Friday, May 12th. Fielding three boats the Red Foxes came out with impressive performances from the Varsity Eight, 2nd Varsity Eight, and the Freshman Eight. Marist will next hit the water with their Varsity Four at the IRA National Championships at Lake Natoma in Rancho Cordova, CA.
