POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Red Fox Network's Marist Minute highlights this past week's events and provides an upcoming schedule for this week.

Women's lacrosse closed out its regular season with a 19-6 win against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponent Siena on Wednesday, April 26, in Tenney Stadium. The Red Foxes clinched the no. 3 seed in the MAAC Championships with the victory and earned the right to host no. 6 Quinnipiac in the first round on Saturday, April 29. Marist defeated the Bobcats, 17-10, to move on to play no. 2 Fairfield in the semifinals May 5. In the postseason win sophomore Hailey Wagner broke her own single-game record for draw controls, winning 21, which was also tied for the second most in a single NCAA contest.

Baseball lost to Army West Point, 4-1, in the 12th Annual Hudson Valley Baseball Classic on Wednesday, but bounced back with a three-game sweep of Saint Peter's over the weekend. The Red Foxes' bats were on full display Saturday, shown by winning scores of 17-6 and 27-7, respectively, in their doubleheader. In Game 2, the 27 runs scored were the most in program history since at least 2001 and 10th most in the NCAA in 2017. Marist's 23 hits were the most in one game since 2010. The Red Foxes followed that up with a 6-2 win on Sunday, April 30.

Softball played three consecutive days and went 4-2 this past week, with all four wins coming against MAAC opponents. Marist was swept by Army West Point on Thursday, April 27, losing 6-4 in Game 1 and 2-1 in Game 2. On Friday, April 28, the Red Foxes swept Niagara by scores of 2-1 and 7-3, respectively. Marist stayed hot Saturday, defeating Canisius 4-3 in the first game, and coming out on top in an extra inning thriller, 5-4, in Game 2.

Men's lacrosse won its final game of the regular season Saturday to extend its unbeaten streak to four games heading into the postseason. Marist scored three goals in a span of 44 seconds inside the final minute of the game to defeat Siena, 6-5, and eliminate the Saints from postseason contention. The Red Foxes will compete as the no. 3 seed in the MAAC Championships in Tenney Stadium this weekend. Tickets are available on the conference website through Ticketleap.

Water polo won its semifinal match of the MAAC Championships,11-7, over VMI on Friday, but was defeated by Wagner by the same score in Sunday's final. The Red foxes finished the season 20-14 overall and 11-3 in conference play.

No. 2 men's tennis shut out no. 3 Quinnipiac, 4-0, in its MAAC Championship semifinal match Saturday, but fell to top seeded Monmouth, 4-1, in the final. Marist ended up 17-4 overall, including 6-1 in MAAC competition. 

Women's tennis competed as the no. 3 seed and lost in the semifinal round of the MAAC Championships, bowing out to no. 2 Siena, 4-2, on Saturday. The Red Foxes finish the 2017 season 8-8 (5-2 MAAC).

Men's and women's track & field competed in the Penn Relays on Thursday and the Yale Springtime Invitational on Sunday. The men saw the 3,200-meter relay team of sophomore Brian Henderson, sophomore Andrew Burns, junior Steven Morrison, and senior Stefan Morton post the highest finish in school history at the Penn Relays, coming in at 11th out of 27 squads with a time of 7:37.62. Junior Mara Schiffhauer took the top spot in the 3,000-meter run for the women at Yale and the 1,600-meter relay team of sophomore Shea Bohan, freshman Denise Grohn, senior Emily Franko, and senior Jenn Horner placed first overall.

Men's and women's rowing competed in the Ithaca Invitational on Sunday. The women won the Varsity and Second Varsity Eight races against Colgate.
