POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- Marist women’s track and field’s fifth-year senior Nicki Nesi, sophomore Emily Burns and freshman Ali Bartolotta will compete in the open women’s steeplechase at the prestigious Mt. Sac Relays in Torrance, CA on Thursday (5:15 PT).
The remainder of the men’s and women’s teams will travel to Lewisburg, PA for the Bison Outdoor Classic on Friday and Saturday.
The men are coming off a performance at the Rider Invitational in which sophomore Sean Patterson and freshman Zachary Ropes had the highest finishes for the Red Foxes. Patterson finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in a career best time of 56.60 seconds. The time was just one second behind of a school record. Ropes also had a fourth place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55:44. The team overall finished tenth in the invitational.
The women are coming off a Rider Invitational in which sophomore Deborah Boerke took first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.42. Other top scorers included junior Jenna Robinson with a third place finish in the 800-meter run and senior Bryn Gorberg with a seventh place finish in the 1,500-meter run. On the field side, junior Fallon Quigley earned an eleventh place finish in the high jump with a jump of 1.55 meters (5 feet, 1 inch).
Following the Bison Outdoor Classic, the teams will be heading the Wolfie Invitational in Stony Brook, New York on Saturday, April 22nd.
