POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Red Fox Network’s Marist Minute highlights this past week’s events and provides an upcoming schedule for this week.

Women’s lacrosse picked up a 15-10 win at Sacred Heart on Saturday, March 11. It was an impressive offensive performance from the Red Foxes, as the team saw four players record hat tricks: freshman Samantha Mehalick, sophomore Audrey Cerrone, and seniors Olivia Pitonzo and Natalie Bonaroti.

Water polo competed in the ASU Invitational over the weekend and won its first game on Saturday, 11-5, over La Verne. Marist lost its next two games however, first falling to Arizona State, 15-6, on Saturday, then to Stanford, 19-1, on Sunday, March 12.

Men’s lacrosse took on UMBC on Saturday in Tenney Stadium. The team suffered a tough loss in a defensive battle by a score of 6-4. Junior Gannon Morrison notched his 100th career point.

Baseball traveled to Annapolis, Maryland, over the weekend, and played a doubleheader on Saturday. The Red Foxes lost to Central Connecticut State, 3-2, in extra innings, and then lost later in the day to Navy by the same score in nine innings.

Softball traveled to Hawaii over the weekend to compete in the University of Hawaii Spring Fling. Marist went 0-4 in the tournament, losing 5-3 to Toledo on Friday, March 10, 9-6 to Charleston Southern on Saturday morning, and dropping two games to host Hawaii, 2-0 on Saturday and 5-0 on Sunday.

Men’s tennis went 2-1 over the weekend. Marist played two games on Saturday, first beating Fairfield 5-2, but then losing 6-1 to the nationally ranked Yale Bulldogs. On Sunday, the Red Foxes took down Stony Brook 4-1.

Women’s Tennis was defeated by Binghamton 5-2 on Friday.

Marist’s divers concluded their 2016-17 season at the NCAA Championships on Tuesday, March 7. Juniors Peter Gallino and Megan Berardelli represented the men and women respectively.

*Men’s and Women’s Rowing will be on its Clemson Spring Break Training trip until Saturday, March 18.
