POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The #10 seed Marist men's basketball team will open play in the 2017 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Basketball Championship on Thursday, when the Red Foxes play #7 Canisius at the Times Union Center in Albany. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the game will be carried live on ESPN3.

Regular Season

Marist enters the championship having won two of its last three, with home victories against Canisius and Quinnipiac before a loss at Siena to end the regular season. The Red Foxes lost their first three games of the season, and then won four out of five (including a three-game winning streak). However, Marist went 2-18 from Dec. 4 until Feb. 17. Red-shirt senior guard Khallid Hart was named Second Team All-MAAC. Hart is Marist’s fourth all-time leading scorer (1,863 points), and ranks in the conference’s top 10 in three statistical categories.

Radio

Dean Darling (play-by-play) and Ed Weir (color) will have the call for Marist’s games. All games will be broadcast in the Hudson Valley on 1450 AM, 1370 AM and 98.5 FM,. The broadcast will be available on the Red Fox Network and iHeart Radio.

Television

The opening, quarterfinal, and semifinal rounds will be carried on ESPN3, with Doug Sherman (play-by-play) and Rob Kennedy (color) on the call. Monday’s championship game will be televised on ESPN2, with Sean McDonough (play-by-play) and Jay Bilas (color) on the call.
