LAWRENCEVILLE, New Jersey – The Marist women’s basketball team will look to turn things around on Tuesday, as they take on a hot Rider team who has won six Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games in a row. Audio of the game will be available on the Red Fox Network.
LAST TIME OUT
The Marist Women’s basketball team lost to Niagara, 68-53, dropping its second game in a row. This was only the second time since December that Marist was defeated in back-to-back games. With the loss, the Red Foxes fell to 11-14 overall, and 8-7 in MAAC play.
LAST TIME AGAINST RIDER
The Marist women’s basketball team fell to Rider 69-56 on Jan. 12. Four Red foxes scored double digits in the game, led by Claire Oberdorf with 16 points. Marist hung around for a majority of the game, and only trailed by seven heading into the fourth quarter, but wasn’t able to amount a comeback late in the game.
The Red Foxes hold a 41-15 advantage over Rider in the all-time series against the Broncs. Rebekah Hand is fresh off winning her seventh MAAC Rookie of the Week honor, and is red hot of late. She averaged 16 points and eight rebounds over this past week. Oberdorf averaged 12.5 points over the same span, and could look to repeat her strong performance against Rider earlier in the season.
