EDISON, New Jersey – After the 2017 Marist men’s lacrosse season opener over the weekend senior J.D. Recor was selected as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The conference announced its weekly award winners Feb. 13.

Recor scored a team-high five goals on seven shots on goal in the Red Foxes’ 12-8 victory at Colgate on Feb. 11. He also added two assists to bring his NCAA active career leading total to 102 and extend his point streak to 29 games dating back to 2015. The streak is the 13th longest in the country.

In Saturday’s road victory Recor ripped off three straight scores in the third quarter that came about a minute and a half apart and bumped Marist’s lead up to five. He had a man up goal to lead the Red Foxes to a flawless 3-for-3 on extra man opportunities and finished with 10 shots overall in the contest.

This offseason Recor was chosen as an Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American Honorable Mention. He is currently second among active players in points with 180 and fifth in points per game (3.67). His career average of 2.08 assists per game is second in Division I among active players.

Marist will battle Air Force for the third straight year when they travel to Colorado for a Feb. 18 contest. Opening faceoff is set for 2 p.m. EST.
