POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - On Wednesday, the Marist softball and men's rowing teams were honored for their 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championships in a luncheon hosted by the President's Office at Christo's Restaurant.

The 2016 Marist softball set a program record with 45 wins, and earned its third conference championship. Men's rowing won its 17th MAAC championship, which is tied with women's swimming and diving for the most of any program on campus. Marist has won 109 MAAC championships in its history, the most of any school in the conference.

The championship luncheon was a tradition initiated by former Marist President and current President Emeritus Dr. Dennis J. Murray. Wednesday's luncheon marked the first in President David Yellen's tenure.
