POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Junior Joseph Dube (Livonia, Mich.) of the Marist men’s tennis team has been named CoSIDA/Capital One First Team Academic All-District.
A Biomedical Sciences major, Dube finished the season 18-10 overall and 5-2 in MAAC action, primarily at fourth singles. He also posted a 6-5 mark in doubles play. Dube was named the MAAC Tournament Most Outstanding player after finishing 3-0 in the tournament with two singles wins and one doubles win. Dube won seven straight matches at fourth singles this season. He was named to the All-MAAC First Team at Fourth Singles this year alongside the MAAC All-Academic Team.
Dube is the fourth student-athlete in the Marist Athletics Department to earn an Academic All-District honor this season, following Tyler Ramsey (football), Brooke Zywick (volleyball), and Mark Brennan (baseball). The Marist Athletics Department now has a total of 89 All-District honorees in its history.
The Red Foxes won their 11th MAAC Championship title this season and posted the program’s fifth consecutive undefeated season in MAAC play. Marist fell to ninth-seeded Texas in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament to finish the season 15-5 overall and 7-0 in conference play.
