WHITNEY PORT, N.Y. – The Marist women’s crew competed at the New York State Championships this past weekend.

The Varsity Eight took home third place with a time of 7:19.98. The crew placed behind William Smith and Ithaca, but placed ahead of institutions such as Rochester, RIT, and Union.

The Varsity Four also took third place for Marist, finishing the event in 8:30.81. After finishing behind US Military Academy Boat “A” and William Smith, the Red Foxes defeated Binghamton Boat “A”, US Military Academy Boat “B”, and Skidmore.

The Second Varsity Eight placed seventh in the finals with a time of 8:28.34, placing behind William Smith, Ithaca Boat “A”, RIT, Ithaca Boat "B”, Rochester, and Union.

The Novice Four took fourth place in its event, claiming a time of 9:43.96. The crew defeated Union and Ithaca, while placing behind Colgate, Rochester, and US Military Academy.

The Red Foxes close out the 2014 rowing season, as they compete at the Dad Vail Regatta on May 9.
