FISHKILL -- The Marist baseball team will take on Army on Wednesday in the ninth annual WRWD Hudson Valley Baseball Classic at Dutchess Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. In the eight previous editions of the classic, each team has prevailed four times.

For the ninth consecutive year, in conjunction with the WRWD Hudson Valley Baseball Classic, a free baseball clinic for boys and girls ages 8 to 18 will be conducted by players and coaches from both Army and Marist on the Dutchess Stadium playing field prior to the game from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The first 150 individuals to pre-register for the clinic will receive a T-shirt commemorating the event, while all those participating in the clinic will receive a voucher for a free ticket to a Renegades game later this summer. Admission to the game is free, but a ticket is required for entry.

Army enters the game at 27-12 overall and 11-4 in Patriot League play. The Black Knights have won their last five, including a four-game conference sweep at Holy Cross in which they allowed just two runs the entire series. Additionally, Army leads the Patriot League in runs scored.

Marist is 12-24 overall and 5-7 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Red Foxes had a season-high four-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday with an 8-5 home loss against UMass Lowell. Junior first baseman Steve Laurino leads Marist in batting average (.312), hits (39) and RBIs (21). Junior right-hander Evan Davis (1-4, 4.76 ERA) is the Red Foxes' scheduled starting pitcher.

The game will be broadcast on WKIP (1450 AM) in Poughkeepsie, and will be available online through the Red Fox Network and iHeart Radio. Mike Ferraro and Joe Fitzhenry will have the call beginning at 6:30.
