NEW YORK – Senior Emma O'Connor (Lynbrook, N.Y.) of the Marist women’s basketball team has been named to the All-Met Division I women’s basketball first team. O’Connor will be among a number of student-athletes honored at the Met Basketball Writers Association Haggerty Dinner on Tuesday, April 22 at the Westchester Marriott. The Met Basketball Writers Association is the longest running college basketball awards program conducted by a media group in the United States, now in its 81st year.
O’Connor led the Red Foxes to their 10th overall, ninth consecutive, MAAC Championship title and a share of their 11th MAAC Regular Season Championship. O’Connor led her team and ranked sixth in the MAAC in both scoring (13.6 points per game) and rebounding (6.8 per game). The All-MAAC First Team member also led the league in field goal percentage, shooting 55.9 percent and ranked second in three point field goal percentage, shooting 44.4 percent on the year. O’Connor was also named to the MAAC All-Tournament Team and earned two conference player of the week honors this season.
