WALNUT, Calif. – Marist track & and field junior David Marthy (Latham, N.Y.) and sophomore Kristen Traub (Wayne, N.J.) each competed at the prestigious Mt. San Antonio College (SAC) Relays on Friday.

Marthy ran a time of 1:52.39 in the 800 meters, which placed him 23rd out of 98 overall entrants and fourth out of 17 runners in his section. He passed several runners over the final 200 meters to earn an outdoor personal-best time, which was just shy of the IC4A qualifying mark of 1:51.80.

Traub had a time of 4:39.16 in the 1,500 meters, which placed her 92nd out of 147 runners. She competed in a section that included the overall winner, Abby Regan of Washington State (4:19.49). Traub’s time was just a few seconds shy of her own school record (4:36.11), which was set last year at Stanford.

The Marist men’s and women’s track & field teams will be in action on Saturday at the Stony Brook “Wolfie” Invitational.
