FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Marist softball team (13-19, 4-2 MAAC) made up its game against Fairfield (14-16, 10-2) today, falling in a close Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) contest with a 3-2 loss.

After Fairfield posted a run in the bottom of the second, the Red Foxes notched two in the fourth to claim the lead. Sophomore Kyrsten Van Natta (Maplewood, N.J.) walked to kick off the inning. Van Natta would go on to cross the plate as freshman Janna Korak (Huntsville, Ala.) doubled to left field. For the team’s second run, senior Aly Klemmer stepped up to plate and singled down the right field line for Korak to make her way around the bases.
