EDISON, N.J. – Freshman infielder Ben Moller (Warrington, Pa.) of the Marist baseball team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.

Moller had multi-hit performances in three of Marist's four games this week, and hit safely in every game. He batted .571 (8-for-14) with a .533 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of .714. He also scored three runs and drove in four.

In a 9-0 road victory against Fordham of the Atlantic 10 on March 25, he went 2-for-5 with a run scored. Against Siena on March 29, he was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, two RBIs, a triple and a sacrifice fly. In the first game of a doubleheader against Siena on March 31, he went 1-for-2 in Marist's 1-0 victory. In the second game, he was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Moller also handled all 10 of his fielding chances at third base (three putouts, seven assists) without committing an error this week, and struck out just once.

On the season, Moller is hitting .275 with seven RBIs. He has seen action at both second base and third base.

This is the first weekly honor earned by Moller in his career, and the second won by a Red Fox this season. Freshman right-hander Scott Boches (Feasterville, Pa.) was named MAAC Rookie of the Week on March 11.
