POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist women's basketball team will hold its 2014 NCAA Selection Show viewing party on Monday, March 17, at Shadows on the Hudson in Poughkeepsie starting at 6:30 p.m. The selection show will air on ESPN beginning at 7 p.m. as the Red Foxes will learn their NCAA Tournament seed, opponent and First Round site location. The event is free and open to the public.

Marist won its ninth consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship, and conference record 10th in 11 years, when the Red Foxes erased a 17-point deficit to defeat Quinnipiac 70-66. Marist currently has the longest active streak of conference championships in the country. Sophomore Sydney Coffey (Hopkins, Minn.) was named the MAAC Tournament MVP and seniors Casey Dulin (Milford, Conn.) and Emma O’Connor (Lynbrook, N.Y.) were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Red Foxes wrapped up the regular season with an overall record of 24-6 and 18-2 in MAAC action to claim at least a share of the MAAC Regular Season Title for the 11th consecutive season. Senior Leanne Ockenden (Syracuse, N.Y.) was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. O’Connor, sophomore Madeline Blais (Exeter, N.H.) and Ockenden were named to the All-MAAC First, Second and Third Teams, respectively.

Marist's travel agent will be on hand to assist fans with travel packages to the NCAA Tournament First Round site.
