EDISON, N.J. – Junior swingman Chavaughn Lewis (Queens, N.Y.) and red-shirt freshman guard Khallid Hart (Newark, Del.) were both honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference on Monday. Lewis was named Second Team All-MAAC, and Hart was named to the conference’s All-Rookie Team.

Lewis ranked in the top 15 in the conference this season in scoring (sixth, 17.4 points per game), assists (11th, 2.8 per game), steals (first, 1.9 per game), defensive rebounds (ninth, 4.3 per game) and minutes (seventh, 34.3 per game).

Lewis was a Third Team All-MAAC selection last season. He became the first Red Fox to be named Second Team All-MAAC since 2009.

Hart led the MAAC in Rookie of the Week selections this season with six. He ranked in the conference’s top 15 in scoring (14th, 14.6 points per game), field goal percentage (15th, .454), assists (13th, 2.5 per game), free throw percentage (ninth, .806), steals (ninth, 1.3 per game), three-point percentage (12th, .381) and minutes (eighth, 34.3 per game).

Marist (12-18 overall, 9-11 MAAC) has earned the sixth seed in this week’s MAAC Championships. The Red Foxes will open the tournament on Thursday against 11th-seeded Niagara in the opening round. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m.
