POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Marist Director of Athletics Tim Murray has announced that the Red Fox Network’s production of the men’s basketball game against Iona on Sunday, February 23 will be shown live on ESPN3. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
The Red Fox Network, the Marist Athletics Department’s official multimedia platform, streams 50 events annually in high-definition. The broadband channel was launched in 2011 to serve as the Athletics Department’s home for live audio and video streaming in addition to on-demand video.
Sunday’s game will be the first Marist production to be carried on an ESPN platform. The long-time voice of the Red Foxes, Dean Darling, and Marist basketball alum Steve Eggink, will call the action. Elizabeth Sim, Marist’s Multimedia Coordinator, will serve as the sideline reporter. The game will be produced and directed by Marist Senior Associate Athletics Director Travis Tellitocci.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Marist, and we look forward to producing a quality event for ESPN3,” Senior Associate Athletics Director Travis Tellitocci said. “Marist students have gained valuable experience working with the Red Fox Network over the past three years. We are grateful to ESPN3 for giving us the platform to promote our athletics program and the good work being done by Marist students.”
The event will feature seven cameras positioned throughout McCann Arena. Students from Marist’s Center for Sports Communication program will serve various roles in the production, including camera operation, instant replay and technical directing.
“This production gives our students an unparalleled hands-on learning opportunity,” Director of the Marist College Center for Sports Communication Keith Strudler said. “It’s exactly the kind of experience we hope to offer our students at Marist, experiences that will help position them for vibrant careers in the growing field of sports communication.”
Fans can watch Sunday’s game through ESPN3 online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and streamed on televisions through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold members, Apple TV and Roku.
