BUFFALO, N.Y. – After the Marist women’s swimming and diving team won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship for the fourth year in a row, junior Kimberly Tobias (San Jose, Calif.) was named the MAAC Diver of the Year for her performances at the conference title meet.

On the three-meter dive, Tobias claimed first place with a score of 237.95. She went on to take second place in the one-meter dive with a score of 248.75. Overall, she earned the Red Foxes 37 points in their first-place finish.

Throughout the regular season, Tobias was named the MAAC Diver of the Week five times, while also being named the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women’s Diver of the Week. She qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships at the Red Foxes’ meet against Fordham, where she won both the one- and three-meter dives. Tobias also claimed a personal best vs. Southern Connecticut State on the one-meter dive with a score of 279.45.

Also for the Red Foxes, Head Coach Larry Van Wagner was awarded the Women’s Head Coach of the Year award at the MAAC Championships.

After the success of clinching the 100th MAAC Championship for Marist, the swimming and diving teams are set to compete at the ECAC Championships from Feb. 28 to March 2.
