BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Marist men's basketball team closes out its trip to western New York on Sunday, when the Red Foxes (6-13 overall, 3-6 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) visit Canisius (13-7, 7-2) on Sunday at the Koessler Athletic Center. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
The Red Foxes are coming off an 80-74 loss at Niagara in their last outing on Friday. Junior swingman Chavaughn Lewis had a game high of 25 points, which gave him 1,304 in his career and moved him up to 10th place on the program's all-time scoring list.
Canisius is currently in a three-way tie for first place in the MAAC. Point guard Billy Baron, the conference's Preseason Player of the Year, is currently fourth in the nation in scoring at 23.5 points per game.
This is the second meeting of the season between the teams, who previously met on Jan. 6 in Poughkeepsie. Marist won that game by a score of 65-62 behind a 19-point, nine-rebound, six-assist effort from red-shirt freshman point guard Khallid Hart.
Ed Weir (play-by-play) and Steve Eggink (color) will have the call on WKIP 1450 AM, the Red Fox Network and iHeartRadio starting at 1:45. A video stream of the game, produced by Canisius, will be available for a subscription fee through MAAC.TV and the Red Fox Network.
