Marist Men's Basketball Starts Road Trip At Niagara
NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. -- The Marist men's basketball team (6-12 overall, 3-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) begins its two-game road trip to western New York when it takes on conference rival Niagara (5-15, 2-7) on Friday at the Gallagher Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
Marist is coming off a come-from-behind 70-63 win against Saint Peter's in its last outing on Monday, Jan. 20. Senior center Adam Kemp led the way with a season-high 18 points to go along with 11 rebounds. It was the second straight double-double for Kemp, and third on the season. The Red Foxes were able to come back from a nine-point deficit in the second half, as they won their first game this season in which they trailed at halftime.
Niagara enters the contest having lost its last two games. The Purple Eagles have the nation's leading scorer in guard Antoine Mason, who averages 27.7 points per game.
Friday's game will be broadcast live in the Hudson Valley via Time Warner Cable SportsChannel (199), as well as Channel 199 in New York City, and Channel 323 in Buffalo and Rochester.. Ed Weir (play-by-play) and Steve Eggink (color) will have the call on WKIP 1450 AM, the Red Fox Network and iHeartRadio starting at 6:45. This is the first meeting between the teams this season. Niagara has won the last six match-ups played at the Gallagher Center.
Marist will close out its road trip on Sunday with a 2 p.m. contest at Canisius.
