Marist Returns Home To Face Rider
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- After playing a pair of road games last weekend, the Marist men's basketball team (5-11 overall, 2-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) returns home to face Rider (8-8, 4-3) on Saturday at McCann Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
In its last outing on Sunday, Marist dropped an 86-79 overtime decision at Manhattan. Junior swingman Chavaughn Lewis led the Red Foxes with 25 points, followed by red-shirt freshman guard Khallid Hart with 24. On Monday, Hart was named MAAC Rookie of the Week for a conference-high fourth time this season. All of Hart's awards have occurred in the last five weeks.
Rider is coming off a 77-69 loss to Saint Peter's at home on Thursday. The Broncs are led in scoring by senior guard Anthony Myles, who is averaging 18.5 points per game.
This is the first meeting between the teams this season. Rider leads the all-time series, 26-22. The teams faced each other in the Northeast Conference from 1992-97 before both moved to the MAAC for the 1997-98 season.
