Women’s Lacrosse Kicks Off 2014 Season With First Official Practice
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist women’s lacrosse team reported for official practice today, kicking off the 2014 season. Last season, head coach Jessica O'Brien led the Red Foxes to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship game. With the addition of assistant coaches Jana Drummond and Ashley Johnson, Marist hopes to once again reach the championship.
“Our staff has been anticipating the team's return for quite some time,” said O’Brien. “We are very excited to have this time as a family and to prepare for our 2014 season together. As a coach, I can say there is nothing better than being with these athletes and utilizing this time we have now to focus on our progress.”
The Red Foxes start the 2014 season at home on Saturday, Feb. 15 vs. Lafayette. Marist plays a 17 game schedule, featuring eight home matches before heading to Buffalo for the MAAC Tournament at Canisius.
