EDISON, N.J. – Red-shirt freshman guard Khallid Hart (Newark, Del.) of the Marist men’s basketball team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week for a conference-leading fourth time this season on Monday.

Hart has been named MAAC Rookie of the Week in the last four weeks the Red Foxes have played. He was previously honored on Dec. 16, Dec. 23 and Jan. 6. Marist did not play from Dec. 23-29.

Hart set career highs in scoring in his last two games, and averaged 21.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals in Marist's three games this past week. He also shot .421 (16-for-38) from the field, .450 (9-for-20) from three-point range and .960 (24-for-25) from the free-throw line in 38.7 minutes per game.

Against Canisius on Jan. 6, Hart helped defeat the first-place Golden Griffins with a performance of 19 points, nine rebounds and six assists. The rebound and assist totals were both career highs. He shot an efficient 5-for-9 from the field, 3-for-6 from three-point range and 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. At Siena on Jan. 10, he had a career-high 22 points, drained four three-pointers, and was 8-for-9 from the free-throw line. At Manhattan on Jan. 12, Hart set another career high with 24 points, aided by a 10-for-10 performance from the free-throw line.

This season, Hart is second on the Red Foxes with 13.6 points per game. He has a team-best 2.1 assists per game, and is shooting .358 from three-point range and .806 from the free-throw line. He is one of three Red Foxes to start all 16 of the team’s games this season.
