Marist Heads Back to the Road to Face Manhattan
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Marist men's basketball team (5-10 overall, 2-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) will travel to Manhattan (11-3, 4-1) for a Sunday afternoon contest at Draddy Gymnasium in Riverdale. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
The Red Foxes had a five-game winning streak snapped in their last outing at Siena on Friday, falling by a score of 67-58. Red-shirt freshman guard Khallid Hart had a career-high 22 points to lead all scorers. Senior forward Jay Bowie and junior swingman Chavaughn Lewis each added 11 points. Sophomore forward Phillip Lawrence had a team-high seven rebounds, which set a career high.
Manhattan suffered an 81-76 loss at Quinnipiac in its last outing on Thursday, which snapped an eight-game winning streak for the Jaspers.
This is the second meeting of the season between the teams. The Jaspers earned a 70-59 victory in Poughkeepsie on Dec. 6. Manhattan, the conference's preseason favorite, is the first team Marist will finish its regular-season series with.
Manhattan leads the all-time series, 26-14.
