EDISON, N.J. – Sophomore Sydney Coffey (Hopkins, Minn.) and freshman Katharine Fogarty (Peterborough, N.H.) have been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week. Coffey and Fogarty led Marist to a historic week, notching two victories over Northeastern, predicted to finish 3rd in the CAA Preseason Coaches’ Poll, and nationally ranked #20/19 Oklahoma. Marist improved to 7-4 overall, continuing its six-game winning streak.

The Red Foxes defeated Northeastern, 103-66, marking the first time Marist has scored 100 points under head coach Brian Giorgis. Coffey posted 19 points, five assists, five rebounds, and two steals for the Red Foxes, shooting 6-9 (.666) from the field, 1-2 (.500) from three-point range and 6-7 (.857) from the free-throw line. Fogarty was one of four Red Foxes that shot in double digits on Wednesday. Fogarty posted 14 points, shooting 3-4 from the field (.750), 2-3 from three-point range, (.667), and 6-6 from the free-throw line. She contributed an additional five rebounds and one block in the historic game.

Marist defeated #20/19 Oklahoma on Saturday, 76-69.
