BRONX, N.Y. – The Marist women’s cross country team placed third at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships today at Van Cortlandt Park. Two Red Foxes earned All-MAAC honors – sophomore Kristen Traub (Wayne, N.J.) and junior Michelle Gaye (Greenlawn, N.Y.) – finishing the race as the top 15.
Traub was sixth overall with a time of 22:54 on the 6K course. Gaye followed directly behind posting a time of 23:04 for seventh place overall.
Also placing for the Red Foxes, freshman Janelle Solviletti (Arlington, Mass.) and Nicki Nesi (Pelham, N.Y.) finished 24th and 25th, respectively. Junior Erin Thompson (Washington Township, N.J.) placed 47th, while sophomore Annie Gould (Stormville, N.Y.) came in 50th.
Coming in one point ahead of Monmouth, the Red Foxes posted 109 points, finishing behind Quinnipiac with 59 and reigning champions Iona with 30 points. This is Iona’s ninth consecutive MAAC Championship.
